A chess event took place on June 10, 2018 to raise awareness within the blind and visually impaired community as part of Blind Day events held by the Center for the Blind. The heart of the event was a rare meeting between children of blind parents (and even two deaf-blind individuals from Beth David Institute’s Center for Deaf-Blind Perons) who provided many educational messages: there’s nothing that can stand in the way of desire and acceptance of one another’s differences. Obviously, this picture can’t share the magical atmosphere in which the shared activity took place, beginning with equal conditions for individuals who are blind and those without disabilities. The event was organized by the Shelly Club , which has for the past three years assisted in organizing the event on a volunteer basis as its contribution to the community. The Center for the Blind and the Israeli Blind and Visually-Impaired Chess Foundation assisted along the way, right up to the final results. Everyone was a winner – it was a real win-win situation. J Thanks to the many people who assisted in ensuring this event’s success.
